Attribution and optional measurement

To preserve an affiliate referral, the site accepts a small allowlist of campaign fields: UTM source, medium, campaign, term, content and Google’s gclid. These values may be kept in sessionStorage for up to 30 minutes in the current tab and carried into the guide URL. This is functional referral routing, not a cross-site profile.

With consent, the same-origin /events endpoint receives a random tab-session identifier, page-visit or affiliate CTA-click event, campaign fields and a boolean indicating whether a Google click ID was present. The raw gclid is not stored in our event record. When an affiliate CTA is used, the ClickBank HopLink may carry the Google click ID and mapped campaign fields so ClickBank can report the referral.

Declining measurement does not prevent access or affiliate navigation. Turning it off removes the local measurement identifier and stops future events. Attribution routing may still be used to preserve the referral.

Retention and hosting

The local prototype retains events for 30 days. The production Pages Function logs only the validated event fields and does not log request URLs or IP addresses in application code. No external analytics provider, advertising pixel or retargeting script is loaded. Cloudflare platform log retention and access controls remain subject to the account’s settings and terms.

External and affiliate links

Following an affiliate link sends you through ClickBank to the seller. Those services have their own privacy and tracking practices. They do not receive this site’s optional session identifier, and this site does not embed their checkout or set their cookies before navigation.

Your rights and contact

Where applicable, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of personal data, object to relevant processing and withdraw consent. Because a random identifier is not an account identity, identifying a particular local event may be limited. You can complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission.
